Just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend, LoveNotes! is a storytelling show in which real people share real stories
about romantic love in all of its incarnations. Hosted by producer, Heather Christie, the LoveNotes! reveals true stories of first love, last love, and all the love in between–tales from hilarious to heartwarming, from heartbreaking to healing–stories that show us proof of love. The evidence–this is what LOVE looks like out in the world. LoveNotes! stories ultimately spread hope. For there is no greater hope than to love. As it is LOVE that makes us human.
Sam Baker, whose music is described by NPR’s Terri Gross as, “simultaneously beautiful and broken, like cracked crockery,”
will make a rare New York City appearance as the musical accompaniment.
Housed in The Center at West Park, the evening will be capped with a post-show meet and greet with the storytellers.
LoveNotes! is searching for proof of love and spreading hope along the way.
Plus, we’re raising money for the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center’s Emergency Scholarship Fund.

Do you have an incredible love story?
LoveNotes! is a storytelling show, a book, and a podcast in which real people share real stories about romantic love in all of its incarnations. So tell the poets, lovers, dreamers and anybody else who’s ever been in love that I’m looking for TRUE LOVE stories–from heartbreaking to heartwarming. Any story about romantic love in any of its incarnations fits the bill. A LoveNotes! story is the kind of yarn in which Cupid has shot someone in the heart and that person has lived to tell the tale.
There are three ways to get involved: The Show, The Book, and/or The Podcast. Pick one, two, or submit for all three.
In a little more detail, I’m looking for stories of first love, last love, forever love, unrequited love, the against-all-odds love, gay love, trans love, the one-that-got-away love, happily-ever-after love, unexpressed love, if-I-could-do-it-again love, online love, arranged marriage love, worst date-ever love, friends-to-lovers love, never-ending love, Oops!-that-was-a-mistake love, second-time-around love, and on and on. You get the idea—any story about romantic love in any of its incarnations. No stories about how much you love your mom, kid, teacher, etc.
In a 750 words or fewer, zoom in on a specific moment or scene in your love story that captures the overriding theme or arc. You must write your story (like a story) to submit it for either the show, the book or the podcast. Book submission are open until 4/30/2024. Scroll for more details.

There are two ways to audition to be in the inaugural live-storytelling extravaganza in New York City Show February 10, 2024:
In Person!
… in New York City, November 11, 2024, 12 – 4 PM. You must reserve your audition slot HERE. Remember you are writing your story and then reading that story for your audition. Don’t just walk in and tell us the story.
Please bring an extra copy of your story to leave with us. You do not have to memorize your essay. Instead, plan to read it to us. Don’t forget to click the SIGN UP! below to reserve your audition slot.

Self-tape!
Remember you are writing your story and then reading that story for your audition. Tape yourself on video reading your essay. Then submit via WeTransfer to heather@heatherchristiebooks.com. Put LoveNotes! Show Audition in the subject line. Please also email a Word Document of your essay to heather@heatherchristiebooks.com with the subject line: LoveNotes! Audition Essay.
If you also want to be considered for the anthology or podcast, make a note of that in your email.

LoveNotes! The Book Submissions

- Your story must be 1000 words or fewer.
- Submission as a Word Document (double-spaced, header: Last Name, First Name, page # top right)

LoveNotes! The Podcast Submissions
(50 stories will be chosen)
The LoveNotes! Podcast will have a two submission opportunities:
- Love Stories (real love stories written by real people-750 words or fewer) that will be read on-air by the author followed by a Q&A with Heather .
- This I Why I Love You Letters (300 words or fewer). Real love letters written by audience members (scribed in the first person), that will be precorded and played on-air at the end of each podcast.
